In QualiWare you can use the context view to easy get an overview of how a diagram or object is related to other diagrams, symbols and objects in the repository.
You can also create your own RepositoryView, by selecting your favorites among the templates in QualiWare’s standard groups.
# Tip 1: Context views in QualiWare
Context view in QLM
In QualiWare, you can use the context view to quickly get an overview of how a diagram or object is related to other diagrams, symbols, and objects in the repository.
In QLM you can click the “Create an ObjectContextView” in the standard toolbar to get a graphical view of an object in the repository:
Once you have selected an object and clicked the button, the graphical context view will be created and shown, see the example below:
The selected object is placed in the middle. Two levels of forwarding and backward relations are shown as a standard.
You can modify the rules for the context view object by right-clicking on the contextview diagram and changing the settings.
Context view on the web
Exploring the relations to an object on the web is also possible.
From a diagram, you can click ”context view” to see the relations to the diagram.
You can “drag” any object to the “center” to change the scope of the context view and thereby “browse” through the relationships.
It is also possible to visualize the relationship to an object from the repository explorer on the web:
1. Click the repository explorer from the toolbar on the web
2. Click the three dots sushi menu by the object
3. Select ”Visualize” from the menu to open visualization of the selected object
In the visualizer, you have multiple options to expand the visualization by exploring the object further in the visualization.
Hence, it is possible to visualize the relationship you want to explore:
# Tip 2: Customize your RepositoryView in QualiWare
With QualiWare 10.5, you can access more than 750 templates (diagrams, symbols, etc.).
In the standard view, the templates are arranged in groups called RepositoryViews. They are placed at the bottom left in the view:
You can also create your own RepositoryView, by selecting your favorites among the templates in QualiWare’s standard groups.
You can create your view like this:
1) Create a UserRoleConfigurator object.
2) Add a RepositoryViewDefinition to select templates for your interface.
3) After selecting your templates, you can open the UserRoleConfigurator object and choose the view of the RepositoryViews (If you want them to show in your interface):
You can also define the view in the property window at the center bottom of the page view:
4) You configure the property window when you add a RepositoryViewDefinition in the UserRoleConfiguration:
5) When you have selected the properties for the property window, you can click on the PropertyViewDefinition tab in the UserRoleConfigurator object. Here you can choose the standard relations for the property window:
6) You must save the configuration: Select the first tab on the UserRoleConfigurator object and click ”Generate UserRole.” When you do this, QualiWare saves the setup.
